On the Avalon Path, as well as revering and celebrating the Goddess in her many guises and the Sacred Landscape of Avalon, there is also great reverence placed on the Nine Sacred Priestesses of Avalon: The Morgens.
The most famous of these is Morgen Le Fey~ Recorded in the Tales and Legends of King Arthur and Merlin.
The Nine Morgens are Guardians of the Spiritual realm of Avalon.
They can be worked with to gain a greater connection to Avalon and to the Lady of Avalon~ The Goddess.
The Nine Morgens represent a different Aspect of the Feminine, and go through the age cycle.
Within it there are 2 Maidens, 2 Lovers, 2 Mothers, 2 Crones & then the 9th Morgen (Morgan le Fey) who encompasses them all.
Morgen Thitis is a girl child (Maiden) and she is the Imbolc Morgen of Snow. We Honour Her alongside Brigid and Nolava the Maiden between Imbolc & Ostara.
Is an adolescent (Maiden) and she is the Sunshine Morgen of Ostara~ The Spring Equinox. We Honour her alongside Eostre & Nolava of Fire between Ostara and Beltane.
Is a woman in her 20′s (Lover) and she is the Cloud Morgen of Beltane. We Honour her alongside Nolava the Lover between Beltane and Midsummer.
Is a woman in her 30′s (Lover) and is the Rain Morgen of the Summer Solstice. We Honour her alongside Nolava of Water & the Lady of the Lake between Midsummer & Lughnasadh.
Is a woman in her 40′s (Mother) and is the Heat Morgen of Lughasadh.
We honour her alongside Great Mother Nolava between Lughnasadh and Mabon.
Is a woman in her 50′s (Mother) and is the Wind Morgen of Mabon- the Autumn Equinox.
We honour her alongside Nolava of Earth and Gaia between Mabon and Samhain.
Is a woman in her 60′s (Crone) and is the Thunder & Lightning Morgen of Samhain. We honour her alongside Nolava the Crone between Samhain and Yule.
Is a woman in her 70′s (Crone) and is the Frost & Ice Morgen of Yule- Winter Solstice.
We honour her alongside Nolava of Air between Yule and Imbolc.
And finally you have Morgen Le Fey
She is in the Centre of the Cycle. She is the Mists and the ever-changing seasons and she is the Lead Morgen of Avalon. We Honour her all year round alongside The Lady of Avalon, Goddess Nolava.
Throughout the year, these figures that you see here (made by myself) are placed on my Hearth Altar, depending on which Morgen and which Sabbat is being celebrated.
At the moment, as we are between Imbolc & Ostara, I have Morgen Thitis, and Morgen Le Fey on my Altar. Every morning I light the candles at their bases and say a prayer for them and the aspects of the Goddess that I am working with (currently Brighid and Nolava the Maiden).
I hope you have enjoyed our journey through the Nine Morgens (Sacred Priestesses) of Avalon.
May your way be Blessed by the a guardians of the Sacred Isle!
